The modern learner can be happy and learn more using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In this brief exploration, I delve into the recently published book, “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Teaching and Learning: Insights and Recommendations,” published by the US Department of Education (Office of Ed-tech) [1]. It focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into education; this analysis aims to highlight the book’s value and significance in a landscape where comprehensive literature on this subject still needs to be explored.
In this short article, I have listed some key points of the book and my insights. This newly released book provides insightful perspectives on the intersection of artificial intelligence and education. Its decision
to print such material in the current era of rapid technological advancement underscores its intelligence and importance, addressing potential challenges associated with the swift emergence of technology.
What captivates me about this book and its authors?
From my perspective as an educational psychologist, the authors skillfully present diverse issues in a concise yet practical summary, preventing the reader [2]. The accessibility of the summarized content ensures relevance to a broad audience engaged in educational matters, be it teachers, educational designers, leaders, or parents.
- The book consistently emphasizes an attitude that positions artificial intelligence and its tools as supports to the teaching-learning process, avoiding any notion of replacement. This approach is pivotal for fostering a correct understanding, clarifying misleading perceptions, and fulfilling the responsibility of informing diverse audiences.

Who does the book address?
Why could this specialized book be more comprehensive, and what topics should such important books address?
My response and perspective are that this edition, like other works focusing on education, introduces traditional and modern educational models, delves into the psychology of learning and learners, and explores the academic environment. It raises questions, provoking intrigue yet leaving my thinking puzzle unresolved. In essence, as we navigate the era of the digital revolution, where changes and transformations are swift, impacting all aspects of human life, we cannot overlook the certainty of mutual communication and the influence of digital tools on various facets of personality—beyond the cognitive
realm.
Humans encompass components linked to emotions, including positive feelings like pleasure, happiness, and satisfaction and negative emotions like pain, suffering, joylessness, fear, and sadness. Various
psychologists posit that emotions directly influence performance, acting as internal drivers for positive or negative outcomes.
Foster happy learners
Thinkers like Maslow stress that higher needs, such as high-level learning, critical thinking, and creativity, can only be realized if we address basic psychological needs like satisfaction, security, and belonging.
I ask: Have artificial intelligence and its highly advanced tools adapted to simulate the human mind and cognitive functions explored other layers of the human essence, including emotions, the need for empathy, and other aspects?
What policies and strategies are considered to engage with these facets of the human essence if the primary focus of education is the learner (as it should be)? What avenues and research paths have been explored to foster happy learners and well-being in a generation aspiring to be healthy and contribute to a happy society?
Does the current situation and the emotional and psychological crises in modern societies, coupled with insights from psychological studies, find a place in artificial intelligence research, especially in the education system sector?
If yes, we can envision a promising future, making worries about modernity’s momentary growth and new technologies futile! We can embrace technology without fear. My exploration of this book is ongoing; I’m also examining other similar books, though their number is limited. This limitation is unsurprising, as the comprehensive investigation of the effect of artificial intelligence in education is still in the research
stages. We can only write reference books once we conduct complementary and severe research.
We live in a situation where changes sometimes outpace our contemplation. I consistently underscore that we have two critical missions before the widespread production of a product or technology.
First, we must prepare people’s minds and foster an understanding. Second, we must accumulate diverse research data from experimental and longitudinal studies. That’s when we can practically use the data. Additionally, we must consider social dynamics and cultural developments. These two critical missions underline why multidisciplinary research seems more crucial today than ever!
Conclusion
In summary, in the discussion of education and learning, advanced technology is meant to guide learners to excellence due to its numerous benefits. One crucial aspect of the human essence is the emotional component, which relates to pleasures, voluptuousness, and enthusiasm. Ultimately, a modern individual can be a happy person! If this grand!
